Here are the best quotes from reviews of Mrs Brown's Boys D'Movie
TODAY SEES THE release of Mrs Brown’s Boys D’Movie, the big-screen adaptation of the enormously popular TV sitcom.
The film did not screen for critics in advance and earlier this week, Brendan O’Carroll stated that “the day I write something for a critic is the day I’ll cut my own throat.”
With that in mind, we’ve taken a look at some of the reviews coming in for the film. (Spoiler: they ain’t good.)
Writing for The Irish Times, Donald Clarke awarded it two stars and commented:
RTÉ‘s Alan Corr didn’t mince his words at all.
Gavin Burke of entertainment.ie wasn’t particularly a fan.
And neither was Brogen Hayes of movies.ie.
Evening Herald’s George Byrne was similarly unenthused.
Irish Daily Mail’s Philip Nolan, a self-proclaimed fan of the series, put it succinctly:
The Irish Daily Mirror was the lone dissenting voice, awarding the film four stars and writing:
Today, UK critics will get the chance to see the film with The Telegraph’s Robbie Collins and Mark Kermode appearing to be very excited:

And Chris Hewitt of Empire had this to say. #topical
All of this, however, is unlikely to have any impact on the film’s box office seeing as it has already taken in €1.25 million in advanced ticket sales across UK & Ireland. And this tweet from Vue Cinemas suggests that it may even surpass expectations:
Lots of British people just found out Mrs. Brown is a man >
9 television-based horrors kids today will never have to face >
